About Our Horse Show Photography
Avalon Photography
is known throughout the industry for capturing the best possible photographs of horses and
exhibitors in the show ring, not only standard “rail" shots, but also
candid images of exhibitors, spectators and trainers. Exhibitors
recognize our high quality images, appreciate our outstanding customer
service and our reasonable prices for traditional
photographs, our variety of options available for digital images and are
amazed by our timely delivery. Show management finds us pleasant and
professional, respectful of show protocol, and easy to work with.
Although Jolene primarily photographs the Arabian, Morgan and
Saddlebred breeds, as you can see by the list of about 150 shows below,
she has experience photographing a wide variety of equine subjects. During show season,
most horse show orders are processed at our Avalon “South" location,
where a full time employee handles all things related to timely
fulfillment of those orders, with special attention to Rush orders when
needed.

Photography has always been more than a hobby to Jolene. Her dream of becoming a professional photographer started at age 10 when she tagged along with a commercial photographer on shoots and in the darkroom. Jolene began photographing family and friends in Northern California more than 20 years ago. She moved to Minneapolis in 1992 to finish her Bachelors Degree at North Central Bible College, which included receiving a diploma in Photographic Arts at the School of Communication Arts. After spending 7 years working in Pediatric Research at an inner-city hospital, Jolene had gotten back to riding and decided to pursue portrait and wedding photography full-time.
